Bridge’s mobile interactive quiz platform uses WhatsApp to mitigate learning crisis

Bridge International Academies is using a WhatsApp-based mobile interactive quiz platform  to help deliver solutions to children in Nigeria, Liberia, Uganda and Kenya during the current learning crisis brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The well-established social enterprise designed the mobile interactive quizzes to enable children in all the countries where Bridge works to take quizzes in various subjects and grade levels. This forms part of Bridge’s commitment to delivering remote learning solutions to families, many of which are low income with limited technology at home and unable to afford costly remote learning resources.

Turn.io was used as the implementing partner to create an easily accessible interactive platform. Using the WhatsApp chat function, children can pick a quiz and then get rapid feedback as they move through the questions. This creates an engagement that is not possible via other digital channels and which is also used by Bridge’s tech and content teams to drive improvements as well as create storytelling around using the mobile interactive quizzes.

The rollout of the Bridge interactive quiz platform began in June in Nigeria and the fun, engaging and stimulating platform is now available in Liberia, Uganda and Kenya.

Bridge is a mission driven education organisation that creates world-class lessons based on national curricula, develops in depth teacher training and support programmes, and uses cutting edge wireless technology. It works across the globe to transform schools through data-driven and evidence-based approaches that support and empower teachers and communities.

Turn.io was developed to enable social impact organisations to have personal, guided conversations at scale – conversations that result in actions with a powerful social impact.
