How does Conversational pricing work?

WhatsApp Business API conversations fall into two categories that will be priced differently:

  • User-initiated, like customer care and general support inquiries.
  • Business-initiated, like post purchase notifications.

From the 1st of February 2022, all conversations are measured in 24-hour increments, or "sessions", that start whenever the first message from a business is delivered. The first message can be initiated by the business (business-initiated) or can be a business reply within 24 hours of a user message (user-initiated). A user is defined as the person or entity with whom the business is messaging.

Charges for conversations are based on the user’s phone number. Rates for business-initiated conversations and user-initiated conversations vary by market (country or region). See Rates for specific pricing information.

Do plans include VAT or sales tax?

License Fees are subject to destination VAT. VAT is excluded from the listed license fee and will be charged on top of the listed license fee at point of purchase.

VAT is implemented as a destination-based tax, where the tax rate is based on the location of the consumer and applied to the sales price.

The terms VAT, GST, and the more general consumption tax are sometimes used interchangeably.

What payment methods do you accept?

For the Pro plan you can pay with credit card or wire transfer and for Enterprise plans we only accept wire transfer.

What if I need more support?

On the Pro plan you can escalate a support ticket via email.

What is included in the Enterpise plan?

As an enterprise you get priority support with a dedicated Partner Impact Manager.

Do I pay to join the community?

No! It’s free. Access and support from our Chat for Impact community are free. You can join our LinkedIn Group, monthly Town Hall events and other events for free.

Why are the Turn.io license fees billed by Paddle?

License Fee invoices may be billed by Paddle on behalf of Turn.io.

Paddle handles the billing on behalf of Turn.io so that we can ensure that the country specific VAT/Sales Tax/GST is billed correctly.
